Iga Swiatek, Ons Jabeur, Jessica Pegula - these three players are already part of the WTA's end-of-year tournament. Otherwise, there is still a lot possible.

Because while Swiatek clearly leads the annual ranking with 9,865 points ahead of Ons Jabeur with 4,555 points and Jessica Pegula with 3,232 points, behind them are a whole squad of players with chances of participating in Fort Worth.

Cori Gauff, Carolina Garcia, Daria Kasatkina, Aryna Sabalenka, Simona Halep, Veronika Kudermetova and Maria Sakkari are currently the top ten players of the year so far, Sakkari has 2,537 points. And the current number 20, Barbora Krejcikova, at least 1,849 points. (Halep has already ended her season due to injury and a possible participation as well.)

In ongoing and upcoming tournaments with some points to be awarded. This week in San Diego, for example, where only Jabeur is missing from the top ten (besides Halep).

From October 17th in particular, however, it counts for the women with a view to the big check at the end of the year: Then the tournament in Guadalajara is coming up, a WTA 1000 event where 900 points are at stake.

Guadalajara - there was something there... Exactly: The WTA Finals took place here last year, in a great atmosphere, by the way, after the showdown had been moved from the actual final venue of Shenzhen due to the corona pandemic.

After the disappearance of Peng Shuai, the WTA decided that there would be no games in China in 2022.
