About the year 2019:

"I feel like I am growing up a bit the first time. I know more and more what I want - which trainers help me, what I have to do for my body to keep it reasonably healthy. "

About the Fed Cup season:

"After the hard defeat against Belarus we were all disappointed, but still there was a spirit of optimism. I think that's why we held the World Group in April and now I'm looking forward to the next year and the Fed Cup. "

About the Fed Cup Reform:

"On the one hand, I think it's good that they're trying to get the top players back to playing Fed Cup and Davis Cup. [...] This was rated almost more important than the Grand Slams in the past and that has been lost in recent years. On the other hand, the special thing is that you sometimes play at home. Fortunately, in Germany we have some tournaments again, but in other countries there is hardly any chance to play in front of a home audience. "

About the approaching career end:

"What I am going through right now is something that you would otherwise go through at 60, 65 - in the sense that this career path will soon come to an end for me. I want to play as long as my body participates. But the end is in sight. That's why I've built myself a few legs on the side. "[Petkovic makes her debut as a presenter of ZDF sports report on December 1, Anm. D. Red.]

About their 2020 goals:

"I'll focus on the big tournaments, the competitions I enjoy most. This is the Fed Cup, these are the Grand Slam tournaments. I have the privilege that I can only play for the love of sports now. I've achieved everything in my career that I wanted to achieve. "
