Andy Murray has to postpone his comeback due to a hip injury

The last few years have been a roller coaster ride for the Scotsman Andy Murray. The 32-year-old was repeatedly thrown back by injuries. But the Scotsman is known to be a fighter and celebrated comeback for comeback and was even able to celebrate a title on the tour in October last year. At the ATP 250 event in Antwerp, when he defeated the Swiss Stan Wawrinka in the final.

After he was no longer able to play a Grand Slam match after his first round at the Australian Open 2019 - and in the meantime even put his end of career in the room, the Scotsman actually wanted to celebrate his major comeback in Melbourne. But nothing came of it, because the 32-year-old suffered from a hip injury. It is the same injury that has caused Murray to postpone his comeback on the tour.

"I will return to the square when the time is right"

It was originally planned that the two-time Olympic champion in Montpellier would return on the ATP tour. The Scotsman's recovery process does not seem to be proceeding as planned, which is why he has now announced that he will have to cancel the performances in Montpellier and Rotterdam. "I will listen to my body and return to the court when the time is right," Murray said.

What date Andy Murray has envisaged for his return is currently unknown. On the other hand, it is relatively certain that the Scotsman will not rush anything and will only enter the place in top shape. And who, if not Andy Murray, has what it takes to play at the top again - not least because his performance in Antwerp has impressively demonstrated this.
