Wimbledon winner Ashleigh Barty (25) has been named Player of the Year by the WTA. The world number one from Australia received the award for the second time after 2019. The record holder in this category is still the 22-time Grand Slam winner Steffi Graf with eight awards, and Angelique Kerber also received the WTA Award from the players' organization in 2016.
The newcomer of the year on the women's tour is British Emma Raducanu (19), who surprisingly won the US Open.
