ATP Barcelona: Dennis Novak fails in the first qualifying round
Dennis Novak was eliminated in the first round of qualification at the ATP 500 tournament in Barcelona. The Austrian was defeated by Botic Van de Zandschulp in two sets.

On Friday, Dennis Novak made headlines with his coaching change from Wolfgang Thiem to Günter Bresnik outside the field, one day later the Austrian number two was back on the field in Barcelona. Not too long, however, as Botic Van de Zandschulp only needed 80 minutes to defeat Novak.
The Dutchman prevailed 6-1 and 7-6 (2) in the first qualifying round of the clay court event on the Court Manolo Santana, thus causing Novak to lose his fifth consecutive defeat. Thus, the ATP 500 event in the Catalan capital is history again for the 27-year-old.
