Jannik Sinner is in the quarterfinals of Barcelona

Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Milos Raonic - this was the list of players who had not beaten Roberto Bautista Agut at least three times without defeat this week. Jannik Sinner has also been a member of this highly decorated group since Thursday, as the 19-year-old prevailed against the Spaniard in the round of 16 of the clay court event in Barcelona.

In a highly competitive first set, Sinner fended off three set balls in the tie-break and finally secured the short decision with 11: 9. In the second round, the Italian had a much easier game. With the 7: 6 (9) and 6: 2 success, the youngster got his quarter-final ticket, but the task on Friday will not necessarily be easier for him.

Because with Andrey Rublev, the current runner-up in the "Race to Turin" is waiting for Sinner. However, the Monte Carlo finalist showed a poor performance over long periods against Albert Ramos-Vinolas and accordingly had a lot of trouble to fix the 6: 4, 6: 7 (4) and 6: 4 victory.

Last week's opponent in the final, Stefanos Tsitsipas, also had to fight against Alex de Minaur, but stayed in the Catalan capital without losing a set. With the 7: 5 and 6: 3 success, the Greek qualified for the seventh quarter-finals in his seventh tournament of the year. In this one he gets to do with Felix Auger-Aliassime. The 20-year-old wins the all-Canadian duel against his good friend Denis Shapovalov with 6: 2 and 6: 3.
