The game between Thiem and Bagnis had to be interrupted on Thursday evening, the Austrian got the clearly better restart. And turned a 2:1 lead in the second act into a 6:2 and thus equalized the set. In this phase, Thiem's serve and forehand worked well, Bagnis mostly acted on the defensive.

In the decisive third set, however, it was the Argentine who was able to book the only break for himself. And this also brought over the distance without any significant difficulties. Bagnis is still playing against Maximilian Neuchrist from Austria this Friday for a place in the quarter-finals in Salzburg.

Dominic Thiem will continue in Bastad next week. But then again at the highest level. Thiem can take the first match success after his comeback from Salzburg - in round one he defeated Filip Misolic in two sets.
