Here is the match to read in the live ticker.

Step by step back to the top of the world. That's what Alexander Zverev planned for his comeback at the beginning of the year. And at the ATP Tour 500 tournament in Dubai, this project is bearing fruit for the first time. Because after a concentrated 7: 5 and 6: 4 against Lorenzo Sonoego, Zverev is already in the semi-finals in the emirate.

Two breaks were ultimately enough for Zverev to win: 6: 5 in the first set and 3: 2 in the second set. As a server, the German number one only had problems at the beginning and at the very end when he was able to fend off three break chances. As a setback, Zverev also benefited from many mistakes made by Sonego, who had won against Félix Auger-Aliassime in the previous round.

The opponent for tomorrow's semifinals will be determined in the second match of the day in Dubai: Andrey Rublev, number two of the tournament, meets Botic van de Zandschulp. An encounter with Novak Djokovic, the big favorite, is only possible in the final.
