The young Italian star Jannik Sinner (20) will not serve at the ATP tournament of tennis professionals at Rothenbaum in Hamburg after all. The organizers announced on Thursday that the sand court event will start next weekend. The number ten in the world gave an ankle injury as the reason.

He last suffered this during his strong performance at Wimbledon. There, Sinner failed in five sets in the quarter-finals due to eventual tournament winner Novak Djokovic from Serbia. "As a precautionary measure, we decided that it would be better if I took a little more time before my next tournament in Umag," said Sinner.
