ATP Hamburg: Altmaier after defeating Gasquet in the round of 16
Daniel Altmaier has reached the round of 16 of the ATP Tour 500 tournament in Hamburg. The German defeated Richard Gasquet 7:5 and 6:4.

A match like a rollercoaster ride, especially in the second set: Richard Gasquet saw himself as well on his way to equalizing the set, leading 3-0 with two breaks. But Daniel Altmaier fought back - and in the end he still had to tremble: Because it was only the fifth match ball that made it 7: 5 and 6: 4. The German Davis Cup player thus advanced to the last 16 on a rainy day in Hamburg, where he will meet either Bernabe Zapata Miralles or Andrey Rublev.
