Pablo Carreno Busta has struck in Hamburg

With the first 500 title in his luggage, off to Tokyo! Pablo Carreno Busta won an event of this category for the first time in Hamburg, in the final against Filip Krajinovic the Spaniard was the dominant man from the start. Overall, Carreno Busta wrote 6: 2 and 6: 4 against Krajinovic for the sixth time as the tournament winner on the ATP tour, the last coup he had a few weeks ago in Marbella. Filip Krajinovic, on the other hand, has to wait for his first success. The Serb had eliminated top favorite Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quarterfinals.

Krajinovic also got off to a weak start in the match against the Greeks and was quickly down 5-0. The first set against Carreno Busta wasn't quite as blatant. The favorite nonetheless built up more pressure one stroke after another and took the lead with one set after a little over half an hour of play. In the second act, an early break was enough for Carreno Busta to bring his sixth tournament victory to a dry sheet.

Tim Pütz and Michael Venus had previously won the doubles. The German and his New Zealand partner initially lost a 5: 1 lead in the second set, but eventually won against Kevin Krawietz and Horia Tecau 6: 3, 6: 7 (3) and 10: 8.
