Tournament favorite Djokovic and Kohlschreiber could only play one game, the Serb claimed his serve after defending a breakball. Kohlschreiber also had to fight afterwards, but was no longer rewarded with the compensation. Rain started, the game was stopped.

The sequel was scheduled as the third match after 7 p.m. CET, immediately after the Rafael Nadal-Diego Schwartzman meeting.

All other men's games could be carried out. Gael Monfils confirmed his excellent condition, leaving Albert Ramos-Vinolas no chance. Dominic Thiem convinced against Gilles Simon and meets Ivo Karlovic in the round of 16.

Lucky Loser Miomir Kecmanovic continues to make the most of the moment: The young Serb defeated his compatriot Laslo Djere and meets Yoshihito Nishioka in the round of 16, who won against Félix Auger-Aliassime in a thriller.
