Hafnmann needed a playing time of 1:48 hours to assert himself against the Italian wildcard Julian Ocleppo with 6:4 and 7:6 (3). The next opponent is French Hugo Grenier.

Daniel Altmaier, on the other hand, won 6:2 and 6:4 against the Slovakian Jozef Kovalik. Now it's up to Elias Ymer to get into the main draw. Most recently in Madrid, Altmaier slipped into the main draw as a lucky loser, where he was able to defeat Hanfmann and Oscar Otte before he had to admit defeat to Borna Coric in the quarterfinals.

With Maximilian Marterer there is a third German in the qualification tableau. Marterer meets Argentina's Camilo Carabelli later on Tuesday.
