Alexander Zverev wants to win his third title in Munich - after his victories in 2017 and 2018.
"I'm looking forward to being the favorite," said Zverev before the start of the tournament. "It won't be an easy week."
Zverev meets Ricardas Berankis after a bye at the beginning. The world number 89. has slipped into the main draw as a lucky loser and has already played himself to the lucky winner with an opening win over Maximilian Marterer.
