The Polish/Serbian combo won the final on Sunday afternoon against the top seeded Tim Pütz and Michael Venus 7:6 (3), 7:6 (5).

There was little to gain for the respective return players in the entire match, only Pütz and Venus had to go through the debut once in the second round. In the end, Hurkacz and Pavic won - the random combo at Weissenhof. Pavic, third in the world rankings, is usually Nikola Mektic's regular doubles partner, but he was unable to compete in Stuttgart. Hurkacz jumped in - with success.

Pütz was denied his eighth tournament success in doubles - he was still happy with the week and afterwards said nice words to his family. Throughout the week, Pütz was always at the Weissenhof with his family in tow, and he was always at the start with the childcare on the facility.

"We've had a great week as a family," he said. "We had a great time and will definitely be back next year."

Tim Pütz thanks his family: "Without you, nothing is possible"

Pütz then passed on a "last quick thank you" to his family. "They always do everything for me. My wife packed everything up in the room today, just so we can go on to Halle afterwards. And that's how it goes the whole time, they follow me so that I can play tennis as best I can . None of this would be possible without you."

He hopes to be able to continue playing for a few more years, the 34-year-old said.
