ATP Stuttgart: Nick Kyrgios loses comeback match against Yibing Wu
Nick Kyrgios lost his first match of the 2023 calendar year. The Australian lost in straight sets to Yibing Wu in the first round of the ATP 250 event in Stuttgart.

Disappointment for Nick Kyrgios : The 27-year-old, who returned to the tour at the ATP 250 event in Stuttgart after a protracted knee injury, left a far from fit impression at the lawn tournament in Baden-Württemberg and had to face Yibing Wu at the start with 5th place :7 and 3:6 beaten.
Kyrgios, who played his last singles match to date in Tokyo last October, is therefore likely to lose a few places in the world rankings. Last year, the Australian reached the semi-finals in Stuttgart, and a few weeks later he was even in the final at Wimbledon.
Wu, meanwhile, faces Marton Fucsovics after an opening win in the round of 16. The Hungarian defeated Denis Shapovalov 3-6, 6-3 and 6-4 in round one. From the point of view of the local heroes, however, the first day of the main draw in Stuttgart was mediocre .
