A few days ago, Daniil Medvedev once again listed all the opponents for the ATP website that he has met since his departure from the Erste Bank Open in Vienna in autumn 2020. And all of them he beat. Medvedev's long-term memory is okay, only the victory against Diego Schwartzman in the group stage of the ATP Finals in London was missing for a short time. The one against Filip Krajinovic in the third round of the Australian Open 2021, however, had a special note.

On the one hand, because Medvedev made life difficult for himself. After a 2-0 set lead, the Russian was 4: 4 in the third round shortly before the decisive break, but did not know how to use his chances. Instead, Krajinovic came back and won round three. Which in turn angered Medvedev so much that he directed a few strict words in the direction of his box. Coach Gil Cervara did not enjoy it. And left the deserted stadium during the fourth set, which Medvedev also lost.

In the end, Medvedev remembered his strengths and finally won 6: 3, 6: 3, 4: 6, 3: 6 and 6: 0. In the eighth finale, Medvedev meets the American Mackenzie McDonald, who defeated Lloyd Harris in three sets.
