Who are the favorites for the Australian Open 2022?

In the case of men, there are many indications of a three-way battle between Novak Djokovic , Daniil Medvedev and Alexander Zverev . Djokovic and Medvedev played the final last year, with the better ending for the Serb. However, there is still a question mark behind Djokovic's start. Matteo Berrettini and Stefanos Tsitsipas may expect outsider chances, after the strong performances at the ATP Cup, Jannik Sinner, Félix Auger-Aliassime and Denis Shapovalov also travel with a lot of self-confidence. Rafael Nadal could also have a say about the victory.

Naomi Osaka starts as defending champion for women. Little can be said about the current form of the Japanese woman. Osaka withdrew from the preparation tournament in Melbourne before the semi-finals. Ashleigh Barty, on the other hand, knew how to convince in Adelaide. We must not forget Garbine Muguruza , who made it to the finals in Melbourne two years ago.

Who will be missing in Australia in 2022?

Of the (former) top men, Dominic Thiem and Roger Federer will be absent in Melbourne. Thiem will start his comeback in South America at the beginning of February, Federer will not play competitive tennis for a few months.

On the women's side, Bianca Andreescu, US Open winner of 2019, has decided not to travel to Australia, along with a few others.

Where can you find the Australian Open on TV and live stream?
