Australian Open: Aryna Sabalenka safe in round three

Aryna Sabalenka is still missing a big title in her trophy collection. Judging by the first two appearances at the Australian Open 2023, the Belarusian is to be expected. Because Sabalenka simply connects seamlessly to their strong performances at the first WTA Tour 500 tournament in Adelaide. And had no problems with 6: 3 and 6: 1 against Shelby Rogers.
Elise Mertens, with whom Sabalenka has already won Grand Slam honors in doubles, is in round three. The Belgian won 6: 4 and 6: 3 against Lauren Davis.
Two other seeded players, Veronika Kudermetova and Anett Kontaveit, were eliminated. Kudermetova was beaten by 21-year-old qualifier Katie Volynets from the USA. Kontaveit lost to Magda Linette from Poland.
