Australian Open: Barty merciless again, now against Giorgi
Tournament favorite Ashleigh Barty also won her second match at the Australian Open 2022 with ease. But the next meeting could be tricky.

The fact that Ashleigh Barty lost twice as many games in her second match in Melbourne as in round one should not lead to wrong conclusions. Because the world number one was just as safe in the 6: 1 and 6: 1 against the Italian qualifier Lucia Bronzetti as in the 6: 0 and 6: 1 against Lesia Tsurenko at the start. But now Barty's first really hairy task awaits: because Camila Giorgi can pose a threat to any opponent on one of her good days.
