Brown needed a total of 95 minutes of playing time in his win over Carlos Taberner, hitting eight aces. While the Spaniard, who was in 22nd position, could only use one of six break chances, Brown converted all three opportunities into game wins. The German veteran meets the American Maxime Cressy in the qualifying final, who defeated Yannick Maden with 2: 6, 6: 3 and 6: 4.

As the second German, Cedric-Marcel Stebe can hope for a place in the main field of the first major in 2021. Stebe beat the Australian wildcard Rinky Hijikata 6: 4 and 6: 2 and plays in the qualifying final against the Serbian veteran Viktor Troicki. After his opening win against Jurij Rodionov, he defeated Ulises Branch from the USA in round two.
