One thing is clear for Miomir Kecmanovic: The Serb will play against the player who greets from the top of the tableau at the Australian Open 2022. As of now, this is his compatriot Novak Djokovic, number one in the world. Should Djokovic fail with his appeal against the revocation of his visa on Saturday, then Kecmanovic would have to deal with number five of the tournament: Andrey Rublev . This is what the ITF regulations provide.
Rublev has been drawn into the quarter by Daniil Medvedev and would begin against Gianluca Mager as of now. In the event of Djokovic's departure, Gael Monfils would then have to do this. Alexander Bublik, who is then number 33 in the tournament, would take the place of Monfils. Bublik would play against a lucky loser.
