Australian Open: Junior Lukas Neumayer is in the second round
Lukas Neumayer is in the second round of the Australian Open junior competition. The 17-year-old Austrian prevailed against Patorn Hanchaikul at the start.

In addition to the top stars, the juniors also enjoy the grand slam feeling at the major tournaments. From an Austrian perspective, there have been few success reports from younger players in recent months and years, but at the Australian Open Lukas Neumayer is now preparing to end this major streak.
The 17-year-old has already taken the first step. In the first round, he asserted himself against the Thai Patorn Hanchaikul with 6: 1 and 6: 4. Now, with the Frenchman Arthur Cazaux in fifth place, an even greater challenge awaits. In the double competition Neumayer, who Günter Bresnik described as "exceptional" , lost alongside the Dutch Stijn Pel right at the start.
In contrast, not a single Austrian competed for the women.
