Australian Open: Krawietz and Mies reach the round of 16
Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies are in the round of 16 at the Australian Open. The two-time French Open champions defeated the two Americans Sam Querrey and Austin Krajicek in three sets.

Krawietz and Mies, seeded twelfth in Melbourne, won 6.4, 6:7 (7) and 6:4. The next task will be a little more complicated: In the round of 16, the two Germans will face John Peers and Filip Polaske, number five in the tournament.
Three other Germans are also represented in the doubles field: Tim Pütz plays with the New Zealander Michael Venus against Roberto Carballes Baena and the French Hugo Gaston, Jan-Lennard Struff and Dominik Koepfer play as a couple against Ariel Bejar and Gonzalo Escobar.
