While events in Melbourne are currently overturning , Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Co. have quietly put their first training session behind them in Adelaide. A negative corona test was necessary for this, which apparently all players accommodated in Adelaide delivered.

Videos from the training courts show Djokovic and Nadal as well as the two Williams sisters who completed their first training session on Saturday. Austria's superstar Dominic Thiem was not to be seen on the recordings, but according to reports the third in the world rankings may have already trained in Adelaide.

A corona-related message had previously caused unrest in Adelaide: Filip Krajinovic's fitness trainer apparently tested positive for COVID-19 upon arrival. In the meantime, however, there is clarity: the Serbian fitness coach has antibodies after a corona infection in December and is likely to have incorrectly delivered a positive test.

Due to the difficult hotel situation, Tennis Australia had ensured that the best players in the world did not have to be quarantined in Melbourne, but in Adelaide. At the end of the partial isolation, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Dominic Thiem or Ashleigh Barty, Naomi Osaka and Simona Halep are supposed to contest an exhibition match on January 29th and 30th before going to Melbourne.
