Australian Open qualification: Jurij Rodionov retires after a marathon

With Jurij Rodionov , the only Austrian failed to qualify for the Australian Open 2022 on Wednesday. Rodionov lost to Filip Horansky in three sets.

Horansky and Rodionov played each other in Melbourne Park for 3:13 hours, after which the Slovakian was allowed to take the shower as the winner after a 7: 6 (5), 4: 6 and 7: 5. Jurij Rodionov was the only Austrian starter in the qualification for the first major of 2022.

For women, Julia Grabher kept the chance of a place in the 128 grid. Grabher defeated the French Tessah Adrianjafitrimo 7: 5 and 6: 2 and plays in round three against Caroline Dolehide from the USA.
