Haas had to have an operation on his wrist at the end of 2021 and was out for six months. She has been back on the pitch since April 2022. With mixed results and an attempt to climb back into well-known spheres - in 2020 she had reached her highest ranking so far with rank 133.
In Melbourne, she meets Erika Andreeva (WTA No. 135), who is ranked 29th, at the start of the qualification.
