Australian Open qualification: Niemeier and Kamke in round 2

Jule Niemeier and Tobias Kamke won their opening games in qualifying for the Australian Open on Tuesday.

Niemeier defeated Yuriko Lily Miyazaki 7: 5, 6: 1 and now meets Simona Waltert from Switzerland.

Anna-Lena Friedsam, however, was eliminated after a 5: 7, 6: 2 and 4: 6 against Richel Hogenkamp.

To the women's qualifying draw

For the men, Tobias Kamke is in the second qualifying round: He beat Federico Gaio 6: 4, 6: 2.

Mats Moraing could not follow after a 6: 4, 2: 6, 1: 6 against Matthew Ebden. Previously, Daniel Masur (6: 4, 3: 6, 6: 7 against Dimitar Kuzmanov - he is Kamke's next opponent) and Nicola Kuhn (4: 6, 4: 6 against Emilio Gomez).

Yannick Hanfmann and Maximilian Marterer won their opening games on Monday.
