Rafael Nadal is in the third round of the Australian Open

Rafael Nadal had no problems with the clear 6: 1, 6: 4 and 6: 2 victory over Michael Mmoh. The world number two did not give the American a single break chance and in turn took the serve five times from his opponents.

The back problems that had plagued Nadal before the start of the tournament and also in the first round against Laslo Djere could still be seen, especially when serving, but they did not seem to hinder the 33-year-olds permanently. In the round of 32, the Mallorcan will face Cameron Norrie.

Fognini and de Minaur also continue

As confident as Nadal, ATP Finals Champion Daniil Medvedev reached the third round. The Russian defeated Roberto Carballes Baena 6: 2, 7: 5 and 6: 1 and gave himself a present on his 25th birthday. On Friday, the fourth in the world rankings will face Mikael Ymer.

In addition, Fabio Fognini and Alex de Minaur also prevailed late in the evening. Fognini defeated his compatriot Salvatore Caruso in a highly dramatic match in the champions tie-break of the fifth set, de Minaur clearly defeated Pablo Cuevas in three sets. The two meet in the next round.
