The 2022 Wimbledon winner is about to win her second Grand Slam tournament. Because Elena Rybakina made it into the final of the Australian Open with a 7: 6 (5) and 6: 3 against Victoria Azarenka. So nothing came of Azarenka's dream of adding another ten years after her second and last Melbourne title.

The Belarusian had chances in the first set, but missed three breakballs in a row at around 5:5 in the first act. In the end, Rybakina always pulled herself out of the mess with her strongest weapon, the serve.

Moscow-born Rybakina, who has been playing for Kazakhstan for a couple of years, will face either Poland's Magda Linette or Azarenka's compatriot Aryna Sabalenka in the final on Saturday.
