Milos Raonic is not to be trifled with at the Australian Open. Especially not if you won the title at the ATP Finals in London a few weeks earlier. Alexander Zverev had to experience this in 2019, it was Stefanos Tsitsipas' turn this Friday. The Greek, considered by many experts to be the player most likely to break the dominance of the Big Three, saw no light against the Canadian veteran. And said goodbye to the first major of the year with a 5: 7, 4: 6 and 6: 7 (2).

Raonic, whose body is always difficult to solve, had only played one game before the Australian Open, losing twice against Corentin Moutet in the tie-break in Doha. Stefanos Tsitsipas was only able to convince at the ATP Cup against Alexander Zverev, but he was the favorite in the match.

Raonic served 19 aces, Tsitsipas got nine. However, the Greek could not get a break. Also because Milos Raonic made a total of 55 winning strikes.

Djokovic not against Tsitsipas

Novak Djokovic is one man who has certainly taken good note of Tsitsipas' departure and Roberto Bautista-Agut's loss to Marin Cilic. The defending champion had no problems with Yoshihito Nishioka, would have met either Tsitsipas or Bautista-Agut in the quarter-finals. Now, assuming a success against Diego Schwartzman, it goes either against Cilic or Raonic. A far friendlier view for Djokovic.
