6: 2, 6: 4, 6: 7 (5) and 6: 4 - that was the end result between Dominic Thiem and Taylor Fritz. Despite the victory against the American, the Austrian left one question unanswered: Where was neo-coach Thomas Muster?

Both the training on Friday and the match against Fritz did not include the former world number one. In the first two games against Adrian Mannarino and Alex Bolt, Muster was still in the box of the 26-year-old Lichtenwörther.

More information later in the day

In the on-court interview as well as in conversation with ServusTV, the absence of patterns was not addressed. After the ATP Cup, Muster and Thiem announced that they wanted to work together for 20 weeks a year .

On the social media, due to the lack of the 1995 French Open winner, speculation arose about a possible end to the collaboration. So far, however, these have not been denied or confirmed. More information will follow later in the day.
