After seven successful years, Austria's currently best tennis player, Barbara Haas, and her trainer Jürgen Waber go their separate ways.

The 24-year-old Upper Austrian and Waber, who led Sybille Bammer to 19th place in the world rankings as coach, won a total of nine ITF titles endowed with 25,000 dollars during their time together, a tenth was endowed with 60,000 dollars. The right-hander qualified twice for the main competition of the US Open (2016, 2020) and once for the French Open (2020). At the WTA tournament in Linz in 2019 she reached the double final with the Swiss Xenia Knoll.

“It's a good break, but it's time for a reorientation. I felt that I needed a change in my sporting environment, ”says Haas, who is ranked 143rd in the world (best placement: 133).

By Christmas it should be decided where the journey is going. “There are several considerations. It is important that Barbara continues to have a professional team available ”, says her manager Manfred Nareyka.

Haas but also Nareyka thank Jürgen Waber for his work and commitment and the Upper Austrian Tennis Association for the good cooperation.
