During their time at the DTB, Germany's tennis players were more successful than they have been since the Steffi Graf era. The rise of Angelique Kerber to number one in the world with three Grand Slam titles and the top 10 placements of Andrea Petkovic and Julia Görges are outstanding.

“Barbara Rittner has a wealth of experience both as a player and as a national coach. That makes her an excellent person for this position and we are very happy that she will continue to contribute her skills to the DTB, "says Dietloff von Arnim, explaining the decision of the DTB Presidium.

Barbara Rittner on her commitment: “I am proud and highly motivated to continue to play a responsible role for the DTB. I do this with clear ambitions. In the past, I have always been driven by values such as passion, discipline, perseverance and, ultimately, a love of tennis. It is my aim to exemplify these values, which are so important for success, and to pass them on to the young athletes. "
