Bertens, Gibbs, Pliskova: Baby alarm for the (ex) professionals
Offspring among tennis stars in 2022 - several ex-players have announced their pregnancy in the past few weeks. And with Kristyna Pliskova also one of the active ones.

Kiki Bertens announced the good news at the end of October, in April 2022 it should be ready. Bertens had only ended her tennis career with the Olympic Games in Tokyo, shortly before she had announced her resignation after "the tank had become pretty empty". Bertens had played his way to the top of the world in recent years, but then had to deal with foot problems for a long time and ultimately had an operation.
She has the best prerequisites for keeping her body in good shape even after her career - her husband Remko de Rijke is a physiotherapist.
Nicole Gibbs is also pregnant, as she announced in November. "Home and famlily: under construction," she wrote on Instagram - with reference to a house being built. Both the child and the house are "due" in spring 2022.
Gibbs announced her retirement in February.
Kristyna Pliskova is also expecting her first child: The twin sister of Wimbledon finalist Karolina Pliskova, unlike Bertens and Gibbs, is still active, is she aiming for a comeback after the birth? Seems open.
Oh yes: Lucia Safarova , who resigned in 2019, is pregnant again. The former number 5 already has her two-year-old daughter Lea at the start, so 2022 is sibling year.
By the way, Nicole Vaidisova is already one step further: Her second daughter Meda is already born, to the great joy of Papa Radek Stepanek too. The story of the two is crazy anyway: Vaidisova and Stepanek married in 2010, then announced their separation in 2013. Stepanek was then in a relationship with Petra Kvitova, but he and Vaidisova found their love back in 2016. Then in 2018 they announced that they were expecting their first child and remarried. Great!
