With Juan Sebastian Cabal / Robert Farah and Lukasz Kubot / Marcelo Melo, the top-placed double teams are at the start, as are the defending champions Ivan Dodig and Filip Polasek.

The number 1 in the individual world, Novak Djokovic, also does the honor, together with compatriot Filip Krajinovic. Raven Klasen / Oliver Marach, Kevin Krawietz / Andreas Mies and Nicolas Mahut / Jan-Lennard Struff are also there.

Tim Pütz with Alexander Zverev and Dennis Novak with Dominic Thiem have also registered. However, both teams still have to wait. The field of 32 participants consists of 23 pairs of participants registered in advance (according to the ranking list), plus 3 wildcards and 6 "on-site teams" that can still register on site. Pütz / Zverev are currently in third place on the "Alternatves" list, Novak / Thiem in eighth.

There will be no double qualification.

Team "McCoco" also at the start

Among the women are the defending champions Lucie Hradecka and Andrea Klepac as well as the youngster team Caty McNally and Coco Gauff alias "McCoco". The two had won the titles in Washington and Luxembourg in 2019 and reached the round of 16 at the US Open.

Elise Mertens / Aryna Sabalenka and Sofia Kenin / Victoria Azarenka also mentioned.

For Corona reasons, the Western & Southern Open will not take place in Cincinnati this year, but rather on the US Open facility in Flushing Meadows to keep the players in their "bubble".

Novak Djokovic, defending champion Daniil Medvedev, Dominic Thiem and Alexander Zverev named among others. Rafael Nadal has canceled his participation, as well as that at the US Open. Ashleigh Barty, number 1 in the WTA world rankings, will also be without a trip to the USA.
