Yastremska was not at all pleased after her trainer's congratulations to Naomi Osaka

There wasn't much to gain for Dayana Yastremska in the third round of the Western & Southern Open , the first really big WTA event since the restart of the tour. With 3: 6 and 1: 6 the Ukrainian had to give up the sails against Naomi Osaka - and can now concentrate fully on the US Open starting on Monday, which is in the same area as the WTA Premier Five event currently taking place going to take the stage.

After the joy of the clear defeat was limited, it was a tweet from her neo-trainer Sascha Bajin, who apparently did not fit the 20-year-old at all. Bajin congratulated Osaka on the short message service on the great performance: "Congratulations to Naomi Osaka and her team, she was the better player today. Good luck for the rest of the tournament," read on Twitter.

Bajin ex-coach from Osaka

A few hours after Bajin's posting, Yastremska replied to this tweet - and did not save with an angry undertone. "I always thought that in your eyes I would remain the best player on the pitch, even if I lose," said the 25th world rankings. This battle of words is particularly explosive because Sascha Bajin also had Naomi Osaka under his wing in the past.

Sascha Bajin then tried to get the coach-player relationship back on track and replied via Twitter: "Of course you are. But she was just better today and we'll try to get her next time." Yastremska has not yet continued the conversation.
