Milos Raonic is unlikely to remember the year 2019 well: The Canadian dropped back to 31st place in the ATP world rankings, losing 14 games in just 22 wins and remaining without a title win throughout the season.

Now the former Wimbledon finalist faces another setback: Raonic will miss the Davis Cup finals in Madrid due to a back injury.

Strong Canadian team

"My health has failed me all year - now, again, and I will take the appropriate time to get well and look forward to returning to the court next year," Raonic said.

Despite the refusal of the giants, Canada can rely on a great team in the Spanish capital. Denis Shapovalov, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Vasek Pospisil and substitute Brayden Schnur will be in group F with the USA and Italy.
