Bad news for Dayana Yastremska : The Ukrainian will probably have to wait some time for her return to the WTA tour. After the 20-year-old was found traces of a prohibited anabolic substance in a doping test on November 24, 2020, she also flashed her appeal in front of the International Court of Justice (CAS) at the second attempt.
The CAS had already rejected the Ukrainian woman's first protest on February 3rd, followed by the next bad news on April 27th for Yastremska, who always refused to consciously take the drug. After the renewed no, the Ukrainian still has to wait for her comeback.
"The CAS has denied your request to lift the appeals suspension. Therefore, Ms. Yastremska is still ineligible to compete," said a statement from the International Tennis Federation (ITF) .
Thus the world number 31 remains. excluded from gaming. It is not yet known what steps Yastremska will take and when she will be back on the tennis court.
