Dennis Novak slips into the main Montpellier field for Stan Wawrinka

Things have been going pretty well for Dennis Novak in the past few weeks: although the Austrian has suffered a bitter first-round loss to Hubert Hurkacz after qualifying for the Australian Open, the 26-year-old can be more than satisfied with his game at the beginning of the year.
For this reason, Novak made it into the top 100 of the world rankings for the first time - and the good news for the Lower Austrian doesn't stop there: Novak is right in the main field of the ATP 250 tournament in Montpellier and saves the tedious process of qualifying.
Many cancellations in Montpellier
The reason for this is a cancellation of the three-time Grand Slam winner Stan Wawrinka, who takes a break after his quarter-finals at the Australian Open. In Melbourne, the Swiss failed due to Alexander Zverev .
By not attending the event in France, Wawrinka joins a list of prominent names. Previously, Fabio Fognini, Andrey Rublev and Lucas Pouille had already canceled. Belgian David Goffin is top placed.
