Novak Djokovic has to appear again in court on Sunday

On Saturday morning (8:00 a.m. local time / Friday, 10:00 p.m. CET) Djokovic is supposed to appear for a questioning before the immigration authorities. Until then, the government does not want to fix the Serbs again. A judicial decision in the case is to be made on Sunday.

Australian Immigration Minister Alex Hawke announced shortly before 6 p.m. local time on Friday that he had again canceled Djokovic's visa. Should the decision stand, Djokovic would have to leave the country and could not defend his title at the Australian Open starting on Monday. In addition, the world number one is threatened with a three-year entry ban to Australia.

Djokovic drawn against Kecmanovic

"We are very concerned about the time," said Wood during a hearing before Judge Anthony Kelly, given that the tournament is about to start, Djokovic would have to play his first-round encounter against fellow countryman Miomir Kecmanovic on Monday or Tuesday. In the course of this, the lawyer also criticized the immigration minister's long hesitation.

On Monday, the unvaccinated Djokovic got his visa back after a partial success in court and was able to leave the accommodation for those obliged to leave the country, where he had to stay after arriving on January 5 due to non-compliance with the pandemic entry requirements.

On Wednesday Djokovic admitted that he took part in an interview in Serbia in December despite knowing that a corona test was positive. He also had to admit an "unintentional" false declaration on the immigration form.
