Wolfgang Thiem also denounced that Novak Djokovic was blamed by everyone. "Of course, dancing in the disco was not optimal, but Djokovic basically didn't do anything bad. You were just too sloppy, too euphoric," said the dad of the third in the world rankings. He also showed that the Djokovic tour had raised money for charity purposes. "I would prefer there are a few more corona cases, but a few thousand euros will be collected for a children's cancer clinic."

The event would have been "under a completely different star if the winner had pocketed 300,000 euros," said Wolfgang Thiem.

Djokovic had already received severe criticism for his Adriatic tour during the performances in Belgrade, because despite the Corona pandemic no distance regulations were observed, photos were taken with fans and ball children. Djokovic, Zverev, Thiem and Co. also celebrated in a restaurant. On the second weekend, Grigor Dimitrov's Corona disease finally became known, followed by corresponding reports from Borna Coric, Victor Troicki and Djokovic together with his wife Jelena. A party video from Monaco recently appeared from Zverev, despite the announcement that he would withdraw into quarantine.

In the meantime, Thiem was again active in Nice at the Ultimate Tennis Showdown and at the Generali Austrian Pro Series. From July 7, his own invitation tournament "THIEMs7" will also begin in Kitzbühel.
