"The DTB demands that tennis as an individual sport should be allowed nationwide under the restrictions mentioned," said a statement from the association on Thursday.

Tennis is characterized by "a large distance between the players" and in the current situation it is "particularly good for playing sports - indoors and outdoors". Existing hygiene and safety measures on the tennis facilities and in the tennis halls should be "checked, adjusted if necessary and strictly adhered to".

The resolution of the federal government of October 28, 2020, on which the state regulations are based, provides for a ban on recreational and amateur sports from November 2 to 30. This does not apply to individual sport alone, in pairs or with your own flatmates on and in all public and private sports facilities.

DTB wants nationwide regulation

The executive committee of the DTB, so it finally says in the association's announcement, urgently advocates a nationwide uniform regulation "to the extent that tennis as an individual sport for two or with one's own household should be allowed per place in the hall and outdoors".

Tennis is currently regulated differently in the individual federal states, from a complete ban both outside and in the hall to being allowed outside and with restrictions in the hall.
