Excitement surrounding the WTA tournament in Brisbane: Due to the ATP Cup being held at the same time, no women's matches will be held at Center Court (Pat Rafter Arena). From Monday to Wednesday, the players will therefore have to pitch on outdoor courts, from Thursday, the Pat Rafter Arena will then be used by the ladies.

The decision of the organizers is quite surprising, will ultimately go in Brisbane no less than 14 top 20 players at the start. Among them is with the world number one Ashleigh Barty also a local hero. The Australian enjoys in Brisbane as well as defending champion Karolina Pliskova a bye and could therefore start only on Thursday in the tournament.

Gentlemen without exception at Center Court

The world ranking third Naomi Osaka will certainly play their opening match on one of the outdoor courts. It is planned that on Wednesday all first round matches as well as half of the second round matches should be played.

The program of the gentlemen should be at least in Brisbane already there. As of Thursday, the top eight teams in Sydney will be among the titles, with Serbia (with Novak Djokovic), Germany and Australia in Brisbane playing, without exception, at Center Court.
