No, not even the British Royal Mail is that fast. And Emma Raducanu did not quite achieve the status of Roger Federer in his home country. Federer was the first living Swiss who received his own postage stamp. That was in 2007. Interestingly, the Austrian Post also gave a splash - and a few years later also dedicated a special stamp to the Maestro.

For Emma Raducanu, who on Saturday won the final against Leylah Fernandez at the US Open for the first British major triumph in the women since 1977, it still has to do a stamp. From Monday to Thursday today, the Royal Post has stamped envelopes.

Congratulations are then given and the world-class performance of the 18-year-old British woman is recognized. Should Raducanu follow up with further triumphs, then the Royal Post will probably follow suit. Because on the occasion of Andy Murray's Wimbledon victory in 2013, an extra edition was made for the Scotsman.

Should anyone on the island have failed to ensure that Great Britain has a Grand Slam winner again: It cannot have been due to the efforts of the Post.
