French tennis player Fiona Ferro, who was a minor at the time, was accused of raping and sexually abusing her former coach Pierre Bouteyre. This was reported by the AFP news agency on Wednesday.
In the three-year period from 2012 to 2015, the attacks are said to have taken place. Ferro, born in 1997, was 15 years old at the beginning. Bouteyre was the private trainer of the 25-year-old French woman and accompanied her to tournaments, often abroad, said her lawyer Isabelle Colombani.
Bouteyre (50), who also trained French Alize Cornet, denied forcing Ferro into the sexual acts. "In his opinion, it was a love story," his lawyer Virginie Pin told AFP.
