French Open 2021: Krejcikova is in the singles final in Paris for the first time

So far, Barbora Krejcikova had never made it past the round of 16 in a major tournament in singles. Thanks to a hard-fought three-set win against Maria Sakkari , the 25-year-old is now sensationally in the final of Roland Garros.

An unbelievable fight ended on Thursday evening long after 8:00 p.m. (CEST) at the Stade Roland Garros - and finally after 3:18 hours of play, the unseeded Barbora Krejcikova beat Maria Sakkari 7: 5, 4: 6 and 9: 7 by. She fixed her first participation in the final in a single Grand Slam tournament. In doubles, the Czech has already won the title twice in Paris.

Now the lady from Brno will face the Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the final on Saturday, who defeated Tamara Zidansek 7: 5, 6: 3 in the first semi-final. In the head-to-head of the opponents it is so far 0: 0. Nothing stands in the way of another exciting match in the final of the major tournament.
