After the trembling victory against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in round one, Casper Ruud left no doubts from the start in his second appearance at the French Open 2022 who would leave Court 14 as the winner of the first game on Thursday. Ruud had Emil Ruusuvuori under control at all times and won 6:3, 6:4 and 6:2. The Norwegian's next opponent will be either Joao Sousa or Lorenzo Sonego.

Daniil Medvedev, number two of the tournament, also made it through to the third round without any problems. The Russian won against Laslo Djere from Servia 6: 3, 6: 4 and 6: 3 and is now dealing with Djere's compatriot Miomir Kecmanovic, who was able to prevail against Alexander Bublik in four sets.

The young Dane Holger Rune also celebrated his second success. The 2019 Roland Garros junior champion beat Switzerland's Henri Laaksonen 6-2, 6-3, 6-3.
