The two French beat the Belarusian duo Alexander Bublik / Andrey Golubev 4: 6, 7: 6 (1) and 6: 4 in the final.

For the two of them it was the fifth joint victory in a Grand Slam tournament. They had previously won the Australian Open 2019, the French Open 2018, Wimbledon 2016 and the US Open 2015.

Bitter for Bublik / Golubev: Bublik had already served to win the match in the second round at 5: 4. For Herbert / Mahut it was the 18 double title ever, in the Grand Slam final they have a victory rate of 5: 1.

In the semifinals against Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah, Herbert / Mahut had to fend off three match points.

In the women's doubles, Barbora Krejcikova / Katerina Siniakova and Bethanie Mattek-Sands / Iga Swiatek face each other on Sunday. The mixed competition was won by Desirae Krawczyk / Joe Salisbury against Elena Vesnina / Aslan Karatsev on Thursday.
