Garbine Muguruza cancels "Cincy" - and hopes for the US Open
Two-time major winner Garbine Muguruza is not at the start at the Western & Southern Open - but she still has hope for the US Open.

The world rankings-16. explained on Twitter that she was still suffering from problems with her left ankle, following the advice of her medical team, she would cancel the Western & Southern Open (the "Cincinnati" tournament in New York).
But she hopes that things will improve and that she will be able to take part in the US Open. "I want to go back on the tour and I want it in New York."
Muguruza had a strong start to the season in 2020 by reaching the final at the Australian Open. She had lost there to Sofia Kenin.
